50 Murphy Street Port Douglas Accommodation

Welcome to Bangalow. This prestigious Port Douglas accommodation is located just a couple of minutes from Port Douglas’ town centre, but could be miles from anywhere amidst a tropical jungle…or any paradise on the planet. The views you get from this magnificent property are beyond description.

Bangalow is located high on the most easterly point of Flagstaff Hill just below the lookout and offers unparalleled views of Port Douglas, The Coral Sea out to the Low Isles and Great Barrier Reef, Four Mile Beach and the magnificent Mossman Gorge/Daintree rainforest mountain backdrop that surrounds Port Douglas. Check out our "live" web camera image from our deck
( above ) looking down 4 Mile Beach, this image is no older than 10 minutes.

From the privacy of the sun-drenched manicured gardens to the eagle view verandas, Bangalow provides a luxurious and unique holiday accommodation for those that appreciate the wonders of their surrounds with direct beach access via steps at the bottom of the driveway.

Featured in the remake of the movie South Pacific in 2001, Bangalow is divided into two pavilions and joined by expansive wrap-around verandas. The house can be opened up to the sea breezes on warm tropical days, or closed to create cosy, intimate spaces. With an emphasis on relaxation, there are two living areas. The first occupies the whole top floor of the eastern pavilion, open to reveal the view on three sides. The second is located next to the kitchen. From your own personal verandah vantage point, have breakfast whilst you watch the sun rise over the barrier reef in the morning and then catch the 180 degree opposite in the afternoon as the sun sets over the mountains that surround the tropical playground that is Port Douglas.

Port Douglas is located on a headland of the Coral Sea and enjoys the same latitute as Tahiti and Fiji. It has a small boat harbour and marina on one side and the famous Four Mile beach on the other. It is the only place on Earth where two world heritage areas, the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest meet side by side. Visitors from around the world are drawn by the attraction and beauty of the water, the world’s most spectacular reefs, the mountainous jungle terrain and the abundant wildlife.

Bangalow is ideal for the family or families. It can also accommodate up to four couples. You cannot underestimate the relaxation qualities that this home offers. Some people say Port Douglas is paradise in Australia. We invite you to one of Australia's most unique homes to experience a truly wonderful holiday.
